| COMMITTEES
A little help goes a long way. If you have a great idea that you would like to champion and implement, contact a board member and share your ideas! Committees are now being formed for the following: Scholarship: To touch base with guidance counselors. Applications should be created and posted on our web site.
Membership: To touch base with current art educators public, private, college, student teachers, retirees, artists, docents, interns, alumni, community leaders, and poll membership for ideas. List of attendees at each meeting; update art teacher lists each fall; make sure we have name labels available at each meeting
PDP's and Professional Developmen:t On line classes, summer classes, workshops, local, state and national conferences, etc
Hospitality: Thanks to Celine Federici who has done such a great job heading this up and following through! Our thanks to Celine who stepped down in June.
Outreach and Advocacy: Build up a list of parents, community leaders, citizens to assist when action needs to be taken by many, not the few. Dan Hunter, MAASH
PR: Contact papers, radio, tv, cable, web, school councils, other?
Grants Investigate and compile a list to share with membership.
Web Lee is currently acting as the liason to the web master; preparing images, compiling monthly updates.
Office/Clerical To assist with mailings and making contacts with college reps for Portfolio Day for example.
News/Events Such as Portfolio Day, Capewide Student Show, perhaps a traveling show of student and or teacher work that moves around to various Cape locations.
Advocacy Poll membership and gather their lists; add to the following: Dennis Arts Council; hhsfota (Harwich High School friends of the Arts) CLEON H. TURNER (First Barnstable District) State House, Room 540, Boston, MA 02133
Show/Exhibitions Committee: Develop ideas for getting work out in the community (such as a "Mobile Show": a body of student work that moves from location to location around the CapeSpeakers/Workshops: research ideas/professionals who will come and present/demo; develop avenues for new directions for both membership and students opportunities (such as SCAD Art Educator's Forum 2010 (July 25-31): Rejuvenate. Recharge. Create.
